Waqaa -

I am Miranda Ciquyaq Robb.

I am a motivated and determined Alaska Native Swede with close to ten years of experience in human services and healthcare. My work experience and upbringing have provided advanced skills for working with cross-cultural and diverse groups of people. I seek to integrate traditional Alaska Native knowledge and Western practices to bring healing and wholeness to rural Alaskan communities and demonstrate this in my lifestyle. I value Alaska Native self-determination and support this by continuing the practice of sacred traditions and sharing traditional knowledge.

From my academic and work experience, I have developed a responsible manner of taking the initiative and collaborating with others to work towards specific goals. I am skilled in communication, interpersonal relationships, team building, leadership, and mental healthcare. I am proficient in project management, using effective problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and delegation skills to lead a team toward a shared vision.

I am vastly intrigued by psychology. Psychology is understanding what motivates people to make decisions, why we behave the way we do, and how we can better support others. From different perspectives, we look at the very intricate psyche to understand the components and drives that make it function the way it does. Psychology looks at individuals and collective groups to un-lay the mystery of the human mind.

In my professional work, I integrate many principles from psychology to develop performance improvement programs for the organization. The many factors contributing to quality can be understood from a psychological perspective. Motivation and engagement are two critical factors for the success of continuous quality improvement.

I seek to be a people leader that inspires others to pursue excellence. I believe it is vital to cultivate a growth mindset and maintain optimism when facing adversity. Fostering resilience in myself and others is how I contribute to the well-being of my community.
